About the GLBPA
From the earliest days of the Gull Lake Community Schools system, interested band parents have worked to support and augment the Instrumental Music programs. A generation ago, the Gull Lake Band Boosters provided volunteers and financial support to all Gull Lake Bands. In its present form, the Gull Lake Band Parents Association works to raise funds, coordinate parent volunteer efforts, and expand awareness of the Gull Lake Bands in the community.
The Gull Lake Band programs could not do a majority of what they do without the help of the GLBPA and its members. It is a vital part of our Bands, and the effort of concerned Parents is vital to the Association.
The GLBPA consists of an Executive Board; including a president, vice-president, treasurer, secretary, fundraising director, Middle School Band Director, and High School Band Director.
Since January 2014, the GLBPA has operated as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization. All donations to the GLBPA are tax deductible.
The GLBPA holds General Membership meetings at least four times during the school year. Meetings are usually held in the High School band room. The Executive Board meets monthly or as needed.
There are many different ways to get involved with our Gull Lake Bands! The positions and committees within the Gull Lake Band Parents Association are listed below. As a parent, grandparent, or guardian of a Gull Lake Middle School or High School Band student, you are automatically a voting member of the GLBPA. Your support of the Gull Lake Band program, whether financially or through volunteering your time and talents, is vital to our success and is greatly appreciated.
Unless otherwise noted, General Membership meetings are held in the GLHS Band Room at 7:00.
